How old should my child be to attend Olympic Summer Camp?
How can I tell if this is the right camp for my child?
The activities Olympic Summer Camp offers are time-tested to appeal to the majority of children, but not every single child is meant to be a camper. The two most important considerations are:
Unless the answer is a very strong “no” to either of these questions, we believe our camp has the potential to provide a positive experience for your child.
What if my child is shy or not very athletic?
At Olympic Summer Camp, we believe that attitude is much more important than physical ability. We understand that some campers are more introverted than others, but as long as your child is willing to participate and try hard, we will see to it that camp becomes a very positive and rewarding experience for them.
Can I sign up for just one week of camp instead of two?
We feel strongly that the two week camp curriculum provides the most benefits to campers. In the first week, your child will learn the rules and fundamentals of various sports and begin to create relationships within their group. A second week gives them time to build on these basics, compete, and become more confident in their abilities. For special arrangements, please call Executive Director Tony Basso at 415-602-0722
What is the Junior Counselor In Training (JCIT) program?
The JCIT program is for teens, entering either the 8th or 9th grade, who want to be involved with Olympic Summer Camp and possibly become a counselor in the future. JCITs will be asked to help supervise groups as well as perform small chores such as filling water balloons, making signs, setting up a field, etc. JCITs receive a 75% discount on the camp session rates and do not have to pay the $5 lunch fee (up to $50 value per session). JCITs must also attend a mandatory training session (time and date TBD) prior to the start of camp.
If you are interested in enrolling your child in the Olympic Summer Camp JCIT program, please call Tony Basso at 415-602-0722 or send an e-mail to tbasso@olympicsummercamp.com.

Can you tell me more about your staff?
Each group is led by a counselor. All counselors must be at least 18 years old, have completed one year of college, have an athletic background (at least at the high school level),
and have prior camp experience. Typically our staff will feature a mix of counselors that range from college sophomores to young graduates to young teachers. Every group will also
have at least one Junior Counselor (JC), and sometimes two in the cases of our youngest groups. JCs must be at least 16 years old and also must be involved in high school athletics.
Age, experience, and athletic background are importance considerations for every staff member, yet they all pale in comparison to attitude. The sparkling personalities of our staff
are what makes camp special as they entertain and maintain order within every group. We only want the best, so if you know any great teens or young adults please direct them to our
Job Opportunities page.
How do I get added to the waitlist if a session is full?
